Intent
The renovation to this original 1920s John Byers designed Spanish Colonial Revival house knits together a careful repetition of materials and details to form a seamless link between old and new. To weave the house and the garden together, NGP&A placed a long water-lily garden pool at the corner of the master bedroom, slightly off the central axis to the house, where its reflection can be seen from almost every room. At the front of the house, weathered bricks extend the narrow driveway and link the rear garden with the intimate entry courtyard. |
